The American Trucking Associations has released a forecast report for the state of our industry through 2027. Their research shows that despite a changing marketplace, the future of trucking remains bright.
One of the report’s highlights includes an estimate that freight tonnage will increase by 35 percent during this period of time, and the amount of freight will increase by 27 percent. This is very good news indeed. The ATA also expects private carrier truckloads to grow by 2.3 percent annually into the early 2020′s.
There’s no question that trucking plays a pivotal role in the world economy, and in the United States there’s no better method for moving freight. Despite changing technologies, work forces and laws, the trucking industry will only grow and remain incredibly important well into the future. It also will remain a viable industry for the next generation. This is something that should make us all feel proud and optimistic during a times that can sometimes feel challenging.
