Spring is here, and summer is right around the corner. The longer days and warmer weather mean it’s prime time for construction projects to kick into high gear. With COVID-19 vaccinations rolling out and lockdown mandates being lifted, more Americans are getting out and doing things, which means an increased demand for freight.
If you haven’t already figured it out, these and other related factors are heating up the job market, especially for truck drivers. In order to keep up with demand, we’re looking for hard-working, dedicated individuals to join the Double D Distribution team. If you have experience operating big rigs, a passion for the trucking industry and a great attitude, we want to hear from you!
Wondering what types of positions we have open? Let’s take a closer look:
Freight trucking jobs. A freight truck driver is responsible for transporting commercial goods from one point to another. Typically, freight truckers pick up products at distribution centers or manufacturing plants and then move them to a big box retailer, grocery store or other location. Freight truckers are the backbone of American business. It’s thanks to them that even small, rural towns have access to goods such as ice cream, fishing supplies and craft beer.
Hopper bottom jobs. A hopper bottom driver is responsible for towing a trailer with a hopper, or funnel-like device, at the bottom. These trailers are ideal for transporting bulk goods such as rice, wheat or corn. Aside from making sure the product makes it safely to its destination, you’re responsible for helping load and unload the trailer in a timely manner. Hopper bottom trailers often need to fit into tight spaces, so it’s important you’re confident in your abilities, too.
Asphalt trucking jobs. An asphalt truck driver is responsible for carrying asphalt emulsions and other products of similar consistencies to building and construction sites. Transporting liquid asphalt presents unique challenges, as it needs to remain at a certain temperature and viscosity. At Double D, we’ve been transporting asphalt for more than 30 years. Our expertise in this area has established us as a leader throughout the intermountain west.
Do you have the skills and experience to apply for one (or several) of these positions? If so, we want to hear from you.
